What is Short Term Health Insurance, Anyway?

Before making any decision to where to get a short term health insurance policy, you have to research well what you are getting for your money, with several plans and coverage to choose from it really comes down to each individual needs.
Generally, short term health insurance plans finish after the specific policy period, though most health insurance policies offer coverage from 30 days to 6 or 12 months, you can find a policy on this health insurance that will cover you for up to 36 months.
Although short term health insurance is not for everyone (Most of the cases they are only available for people under the age of 65), those who have qualified for this kind of insurance have found the many benefits that it can bring them, these plans are designed for healthy individuals and families, who do not require coverage for preexisting illnesses, an affordable short term health insurance policy is noted for its limited coverage, due to its low cost, sometimes they do not support dental or optical care, and preventative care like physical exams, immunizations etc.
There are two basic types of short term health insurance plans, the Indemnity Plan and the Managed Care Plan, both got their pros and cons, the Indemnity Plan gives you the ability to choose whichever doctor or hospital you wish but the cons are the high cost of these plans. In The Managed Care Plan, though cheaper than the Indemnity plans, they tend to be more restrictive, for example you only may go to doctors and hospitals inside the network.
