Just Daydream Your Stress Away


Daydreaming...when I think about daydreaming I think of peaceful over the top thoughts, things that would bring me joy, things that would bring me success, places I would like to go and where I would stay when I got there, a special place I would like to experience dinner, a new kind of friend I would like to meet, doing something with a special friend.

Did you notice when you were reading the above paragraph you just sort of floated along with me and forgot about all those nagging things in the back of your mind and/or piled high on your desk; that is the benefit of daydreaming. It just makes the stress melt away, at least for a while.

When you daydream you project into the future and leave the present behind. Being in the future is sometimes a blessing and very helpful. Are you stuck on a question or a situation? Just put it aside and start daydreaming (fantasizing) about how you would like the result of that issue to look like, feel like; play it out in your mind. It is sort of like imagining your life to be different. There is an old saying "What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve".

So when we are daydreaming and in that happy productive state, we are relaxed and that in turn releases stress and makes us happier and if we are happier, our bodies are happier and they function and serve us better.

To develop our creative nature we can also use daydreaming, as it puts us in a receiving mode and we can relax and come up with creative ideas for our artistic projects.

So when the holiday spirit becomes overwhelming, find a quiet spot and take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and daydream, let your mind just meander along the joyful mental pathways and who know you may come up with that million dollar dream.
