Get Rid Of Pet Odor
If you have a problem with pet odor you have come to the right place. This article will give you some tips to help you deal with and hopefully eliminate pet odor from your homes carpeting. Keep reading and have a better smelling home before you know it.
The first thing you need to do to clean pet odor is to clean the spot. Cleaning the pet urine from the surface may be all that is actually necessary so lets begin there. Mix a solution of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Use one part white distilled vinegar and three parts of water. Mist the solution on the spot and let it dwell for one or two minutes. Now blot up the solution. You might have to repeat this procedure several times to completely remove the stain and the odor. When you are finished let the carpet dry for twenty four hours before moving on to another step.
If after twenty four hours there is still an odor you can move on to another step. Go to your pet store and purchase a bottle of enzyme cleaner. There are many different brands to choose from but one common one is called Outright. Take the bottle home and mix it up per instructions. Take the solution and totally saturate the spot. You want the spot to remain wet for at least twenty four hours so cover it with plastic wrap. After twenty four hours remove the wrap and allow it to dry completely. After it is dry remove any water marks that may have formed with the vinegar and water solution. If the odor is still present you will have to take drastic methods. The carpet will need to be pulled up, the pad replaced and the sub floor treated. This is work best left for a professional so if you need this done call a carpet cleaner in your city.
I hope this article has been of assistance to you. Remember, some times pet odor can not be completely removed. If in doubt, call a professional for advice. Good luck.
