Email Marketing - Solo Mailings in Other Email Lists
I am not going to spend a lot of time on this here, only because the technique I use is basically the same one I use when arranging email swaps, the only difference is that I am paying for the opportunity to mail the list.
This can also be very closely related to ezine advertising, in fact, in many manuals you would find this under ezine advertising. But the critical difference for me is that when you mail to a list that does not normally do much solo ad mailing, the list quality and response rate can tend to be higher.
This is an option that can be explored with mailing lists that do not respond to your email swap offer.
Think about this: why are some of them not responding. If they have been in business very long at all, they know that the swap is good for them. So maybe they fear that you will not hold up your part of the bargain. Or maybe they have a really big list and it would be an unfair advantage to you versus what they will get out of the mailing to your list.
So do a little research. Find out how big the list is, how responsive the list is. Be sure to join the list, and take note of the types of offers that are mailed.
Once you have an idea that the list is of a certain size and has a certain amount of responsiveness, send the list owner a price request to do a solo mailing to his list.
Now, this takes away the concern from the list owner that he will mail for you and you wont for him you are going to pay him first.
If he has a big list and that is what has been his hesitation to email with you, then he can price the solo ad according to the size and value of the list.
